World Rabies Day Sept 28 2014     World Rabies Day is an international campaign which is observed on September 28, 2014. September 28 is the anniversary of the death of Louis Pasteur who, with the collaboration of his colleagues, developed the first efficacious rabies vaccine. The United Nations Observance is coordinated by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control, a non-profit organization with headquarters in the United States and the United Kingdom. World Rabies Day takes place each year.
World Rabies Day aims to raise awareness about the impact of rabies on humans and animals, provide information and advice on how to prevent the disease, and how individuals and organizations can help eliminate the main global sources. Events held to mark World Rabies Day range from symposia on current rabies control methods and public events for raising awareness about good prevention practices, to sponsored walks, runs or bike rides, to free or externally-subsidized vaccination clinics for dogs.

Rabies is a viral disease that causes acute encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) in warm-blooded animals. The disease is zoonotic, meaning it can be transmitted from one species to another, such as from dogs to humans, commonly by a bite from an infected animal. For a human, rabies is almost invariably fatal if postexposure prophylaxis is not administered prior to the onset of severe symptoms. The rabies virus infects the central nervous system, ultimately causing disease in the brain and death.

Rabies remains a major concern worldwide, killing more than 55,000 people every year.  In the United States, one to two people die annually, and there were more than 6,000 reported cases of animal rabies in the U.S. in 2012. World Rabies Day was officially launched in 2007, and aims to raise awareness about the public health impact of human and animal rabies.
What can YOU do?  Vaccinate your animals and keep them away from wildlife that can spread the disease.  Rabies is 100% preventable.   According to Dr. Charles Rupprecht, chief of the rabies program at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "Your local veterinarian plays a key role in controlling rabies."

Events to promote rabies awareness are being held across the world on September 28. Visit the World Rabies Day website for more information.

Hi!  I am excited to be here at Full Circle and have enjoyed learning the ins and outs of the clinic during my first week here.  I graduated from Dartmouth in June with a degree in neuroscience and I am planning on applying to vet school within the next couple years.  I love working with animals and have lots of research experience working with rats, ducks, bison and more.  I love to spend as much time as possible outside - hiking, biking, climbing, skiing, you name it.  My border collie mix, Gizmo, loves to come on all my adventures with me.  I am excited to meet all your pets and to continue working with all the great people at Full Circle!

What Our Customers are saying about us -

  • They actually cared about me and my pet. The staff gives awesome service and you can tell they genuinely care about you and your pet. Everyone was really friendly and the atmosphere is very comfortable. It's much different than the hospital feel we are use to when going to another vet clinic before. Thanks everyone for all that you do!

  • This is the best Veterniary Clinic Ever!!!! I have been to some other ones and I just don't trust them like I do with Full Circle. With other vet clinics a lot of the times I would have differnt Vet Doctors each time and I would have to explain the situation over and over again each and every time. They did not write good notes, or they just don't communicate with each other correctly. With full circle they have a more home based staff, that do communicate with each other on a professional level. So when you come in for your appointment they are ready to take care of you and your pet, with no problems what so ever. All of their Staff is extremely friendly and they always have smiles on their faces. When I leave from there I feel confident that my pet is in the best hands, with no doubts to boot. And I leave happy with a smile on my face as well. - Zachary V.

  • Dr. Patty was sent to me from heaven. My babe Reina couldnt have had a better doctor then her. I love Dr Patty she helped me so much. She will be the only person i will trust my dog's medical care. She explains to you in so much detail every procedure that there is no question left for you to ask. - Veronica D.

  • Dr. Patty is the best vet ever. She is very knowledgeable, and answers all my questions kindly and with care for me and my pet. She makes me feel welcome every time I visit. I'm really lucky to had found her. - Rosa G.
  • Awesome staff, super friendly and helpful! - A& B

  • I have been taking my dogs to them for over 10 years (we have 5 of our own and foster for a min pin rescue group). 2 years ago my husband and I moved back to Loveland and we still go to them! It is an awesome clinic with friendly staff.  - Melissa D.

  • If Dr. Patty didn't love animals, we wouldn't have our Mr. Tibbs. When Mr. Tibbs was a kitten, he fell out of a tree and broke his leg. His owners thought he should be destroyed. Dr. Patty took Mr. Tibbs in, fixed his broken leg and hip dysplaysia and kept him as the mascot at the clinic, until a new home could be found for him. Mr. Tibbs went on several vacations, but did not find a permanent home until I walked in the door and saw him. He an amazingly regal cat. Mr. B. and I took him home and now he gets to go see Dr. Patty and staff for regular checkups. Mr. Tibbs is king of our house and our hearts. Thanks, Dr. Patty! - Carolyn B.
